Los Angeles Executive Director (LA)
Bridge to Enter Advanced Mathematics (BEAM), a nationally-recognized program for providing underserved students with instruction in advanced math and science, is seeking an Executive Director to lead our expansion into Los Angeles.
BEAM's programs are designed to provide our students with all the support they need to become successful scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and programmers. Students begin in the summer after 6th grade with a non-residential summer program that provides intense exposure to advanced math and a community of peers who love math; those who continue to our 7th-grade program receive five years of support throughout high school, culminating in guidance through the college application and scholarship process. In this way, we aim to provide the same resources and guidance for our students as that received by more affluent peers with an interest in STEM.
BEAM's LA Executive Director will take the lead on implementing BEAM's programming in Los Angeles. The LA ED will, in consultation with the national staff and board, adapt the program to Los Angeles, develop local partnerships, implement the program, and fundraise to sustain LA programming.
We are excited about this new opportunity to expand access to advanced work in STEM for underserved communities, and the ideal candidate will share this excitement and bring skills in leadership and STEM fields. For more information and to apply, please view our job description.
