Identity Based Empowerment Groups

Group will begin Thursday, October 3rd at 5pm

What is an empowerment group and why is BEAM hosting these?

Empowerment groups help create a safe space for individuals who are a part of the same identity group to come together and have free-form conversations and discussions. Through mentorship and guidance, we hope to motivate you towards self-growth while promoting positive male/female culture and helping you feel more connected to your identity.

Sylvia will be leading the Young Women’s Group.

Ayinde will be leading the Young Men’s Group.

We are really excited to begin this journey with you and hope to count on your participation. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to either of us:

Sylvia - sylvia@beammath.org
Ayinde - ayinde@beammath.org

Food, journals and supplies will be provided!

Why join?

Participating in the Women’s Empowerment Group at BEAM allowed me a voice and a safe space with people that I grew to trust. I learned a LOT about exemplary women and women of color in our society. I also learned to be confident in my ideas and in what I want to contribute to the world.

Being a part of the Women’s Empowerment Group at BEAM helped me meet girls my age with shared experiences and identities. Throughout the weekly meetings we bonded as a group and I now know the importance of having a group of women to support you.
